2020 ACS Graduation format determined

Akron High School principals Mr. Brandon Ricci and Mr. Stephen Dimitroff, as well Superintendent Patrick D. McCabe, held a “Town Hall” virtual meeting with seniors and their parents last week to discuss plans for the 2020 graduation ceremony.  The event and ideas for implementing it have evolved over the last several weeks with New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Executive Orders helping to determine the limited options due to COVID-19 and the school closure.

An electronic vote was subsequently put to ACS seniors with two options to choose from which determined the final format for the event slated for Tuesday, June 30. Chosen was a motorcade through the community followed by a pre-recorded ceremony at the Transit Drive-In. Details in the June 18 issue.
