Bank of Akron introduces Travel Access Program, provides ATM safety tips

For its customers traveling abroad, the Bank of Akron has announced its Travel Access Program. As part of the bank's ongoing efforts to protect the security of its customers' personal information, it has blocked all debit and ATM transactions outside the United States and Canada. The Travel Access Program allows individual debit/ATM cards to be "enabled" for foreign usage while traveling and then "disabled" when the customer returns home.

Community help sought in stopping vandals

The Akron Village Board of Trustees is hoping the community will help stop vandalism in Russell Park.

Newstead Historical Society Update

Itís time to pay tribute to our nationís flag next week on Flag Day, Thursday, June 14, 2007. The Newstead Historical Society welcomes everyone that evening for the June program to be held at the American Legion Post, 9 Eckerson Avenue at 7:30 PM. Guest speaker, Mr. Ed Ingalsbe, will tell of the great history and meaning of the flag. Special flag ceremonies will be featured during whatís sure to be an interesting, patriotic and heartfelt program. Be part of one of many Flag Day celebrations being held around the country.
