Akron students create handcrafted pens for patriots

With a block of wood, a lathe and a Saturday afternoon, some Akron Central School Technology students were able to show their appreciation for members of the nationís military while learning the art of wood turning.


Community comment sought on proposed snow removal change

Village residents and business owners may need to start shoveling sidewalks earlier if proposed changes to snow removal policies are implemented.


Public hearings planned on Senior exemptions

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Akron will hold a public hearing on a proposal to increase the income levels for senior citizen exemption eligibility on January 7 and the Akron Central School Board of Education will hold a similar hearing on January 9 at 6:30 p.m.
