Board of Trustees affirms Mayoral appointments

Akron Village Board members affirmed a number of appointments and designations made by Mayor Carl Patterson during the Village of Akron Annual Meeting on April 6.


Staffing cuts included in budget supported by Akron Central Budget Advisory Committee

Staffing cuts and a projected tax rate increase ranging from 1.28 to 3.11 percent, are part of a 2009-1010 budget supported by the Akron Central School Budget Advisory Committee Monday night.

The BAC met to receive figures updated by District Business Administrator Cindy Tretter following last week's the passage of the New York State budget. Superintendent of Schools Robin Zymroz noted that changes had been made weekly as the District worked to develop this budget without a clear picture of state aid.
