The following students graduated from Akron Central High School as members of the class of 2010:

Fourth of July celebration to ‘Celebrate Youth’

Community members are invited to bring the youngsters to this year’s Fourth of July festivities. The event’s theme, “Celebrate Youth,” will pull focus to the young members of the area by providing fun activities for all ages.

Residents seek local mandate to maintain librarian well into the future

Concerned Citizens of Akron petitioned the Akron Central School District’s Board of Education last week to have the Elementary Library program locally mandated in order to ensure its continuance for future students and keep it from being cut from future budgets. Conducted without any publicity and over a two-week period, over 115 people signed the petition.

Veterans, active duty personnel invited to march July 4

An open invitation is extended to all Veterans and servicemen and women on Active Duty to march in the Akron Fourth of July parade.
