The Village of Akron began distributing two free energy efficient light bulbs to customers Monday, July 7, in conjunction with the Independent Energy Efficiency Program, Inc. (IEEP).


Significance of Fourth of July emphasized in Flag burning ceremony

The names of the 13 original states were read, as a stripe and a star from a retired flag were burned during a Ceremonial Flag Burning, which highlighted the importance of the Fourth of July last Friday.


Midday Summer Series begins with Mardi Gras band

The sixth season of the Russell Park Midday Summer Series kicks off on Thursday, July 17 and runs through Thursday, August 14.


Rich Products is throwing in the towel

Well, not exactly. But it was more than just unsettling a few weeks ago to learn Rich Products is returning some $2.5 million to New York State because it no longer is able to create any jobs here. And, just as an aside, there’s no truth to the rumor that Anthony Masiello is baselessly demanding a percentage of that grant money be blindly handed over to the City of Buffalo.


School Board celebrates service and says goodbye to outgoing member
