Adult Scouts Re-Register

Adult Scout Troop No. 82, sponsored by the Erie County Home, began its twenty-first year with a registration program on Thursday, February 19, 2004.


Celebrating Anniversary Number One

Since Hearts and Hands opened its doors in February 2003, over 50 volunteers have received training and are available to provide services such as: transportation, prescription pick-up, reassurance phone calls, friendly visits, respite for care-givers and help with simple household and yard chores.


Lady Tigers defeated in B-2 semi-finals

Akronís Varsity Girls Basketball Team lost Saturday evening to league rival Roy-Hart in the B-2 Section 6 Semi-Finals. The 49-38 final score was not indicative of how hard fought the game was. The Tigers turned in one of their best and finest team efforts in losing to the Number One ranked Rams.


Service of Hearts and Hands acknowledged

Akron First United Methodist Church paused in their worship service Sunday, February 29 to recognize Hearts and Hands: Faith in Action for their stewardship of service in the community. Citing as appropriate the recognition, as the coalition celebrated its first anniversary, presenter and member of the Akron First Stewardship Committee, Millicent Lotz thanked Hearts and Hands Board president, JoAnn Roach and all those involved with Hearts and Hands for their work in the community.
