Persistence pays off as DOT approves three color signal at 5 and 93

Months of work and rejection came to an end this month as Town of Newstead Supervisor Jerry Summe received word that the State of New York Department of Transportation has approved a three-color signal at Routes 5 and 93.

Community invited to ‘Catch the ‘Beatle’ ‘Beetle’ Fever’

The Beatle Show, a live show by "The Revivals," is planned at the Akron Central School Auditorium this Friday evening April 30. The Beetle, a 1969 Volkswagen will be raffled off at the Fourth of JulyParade. Both will benefit "The Akron Relay for Life" chaired by Kandy Palmeri.

A John Street resident appeared before the Newstead Town Board to seek clarification on a recent decision regarding zoning at the Akron Airport.
