Local Senecas in Documentary

Local Seneca's return home after filming "The War That Made America", a PBS 250th Anniversary historical documentary of key events in the French and Indian War. This 4-hour program is expected to air nationally on PBS in the Fall of 2005.


Sensational Summer at School

Unique learning opportunities are found in many classrooms at Akron Central School during the summer months. From special assemblies such as above, to week-long specialty camps focusing on history, computers, and other enrichment programs, students of all ages are developing skills for the next school year.


She had a dream

Emily Tanski, a 2004 graduate of Akron Central, tells summer school enrichment students to, "Never give up on your dream." Her dream was to visit Australia. That dream became reality last year when she was an outbound Rotary exchange student.


Couple to celebrate 55th wedding anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wiecjorek (nee Mary Kurpita), long time residents of Alden, will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary on July 30, 2004.


Akron Bugle named official newspaper for the Akron Central School District

The Akron Bugle will again serve as the official newspaper for the 2004-2005 school year. Akron Central School Board of Education action, at the July 1, 2004 re-organizational meeting, re-designated the AKRON BUGLE as the publication to print all official notices for the District.


Concerts offer economical family entertainment

Concerts in Russell Park, Akron, and in the Clarence Town Park offer an economical and entertaining way for families to spend some time together during the summer.


Music of Hank Williams, Sr. feature at today’s Midday Summer Series concert

The "All Hank Band" featuring the music of Hank Williams, Sr. is in Russell Park from noon until one p.m. today, Thursday, July 15 for the second performance in the 2004 line up for the Russell Park Midday Summer Series.
