Akron Fury wins Kick It First Tournament

All roads led to Akron April 31, and May 1 and 2, as youth soccer teams from as far away as Butler, Pennsylvania made the pilgrimage to Newstead for the Fourth Annual Kick It First tournament.

Akronís boys 4x100 relay team broke their own school record in a meet with Roy-Hart last week, but the Akron boys track team were unable to overcome the Rams depth as they suffered their second loss of the season.

The Akron Lady Tigers track team put in some outstanding performances, finishing fourth out of ten teams. as they competed in the Hamburg Relays on Saturday, May 7.

Despite out hitting the hosts 10-6 and committing no errors in a game for the first time this season, the Akron Tigers suffered a disheartening 4-3 loss to the Roy-Hart Rams May 6.

Modified Lacrosse falls to Gowanda, 5-7

The Akron Tigers were off to a great start with scores by Ryan Farrell, Nick Pfeiffer, Harmon Weisansal and Pat Brown, ending the first half with a score of 4-3. Josh Cooper added to the total in the third quarter, as the team finished scoreless in the fourth quarter losing 5-7. DJ Sexton, TJ Rudz and Trevor Schumacher held their own on defense. Tyler Borchert, Zac Cummings and Jenna Depczynski hustled as midfielders, while Sam Halicki and Dom Militello contributed on attack.

Modified lacrosse posts second season win over Silver Creek

Akronís Modified Lacrosse team posted their second season win over Silver Creek on May 6, bringing the team's record to 2-3.

Modified Track & Field team turns in great performances

Akronís Modified Track & Field Team again put in great performances as they traveled to Lockport on May 5 to compete against North Park and Medina.

Megan Farrell, a Varsity Softball player, and Pat Little, a Varisiy Baseball player were selected as this weekís Akron Central School Athletes of the Week.

Varsity Softball beats Roy-Hart, loses to Albion

The Akron Varsity Softball team split a couple of games this past week beating Roy-Hart 4-3 in 10 innings and losing to Albion at home by a score of 14-7.

Varsity Softball struggles against Wilson

The Akron Varsity Softball team suffered their second league loss in a row (third of the season) falling to the Lakewomen at Wilson by a score of 7-4.
