Akron LL Varsity Tigers collide with Roy-Hart Rams

Following 40 minutes of play, the Akron LL Varsity Tigers found themselves ending the third game of the season in a 12-12 tie with the Roy-Hart Rams.

Akron Tigers Varsity Football team falls to Tonawanda, 24-20

Tonawanda's tough running game and a superior time of possession proved to be to much for the Tigers as they fell to the Tonawanda Warriors by a score of 24-20 on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. The game was postponed at the end of the third quarter due to lightning and resumed on Saturday afternoon.

Boys Varsity Soccer posts three more wins

Akron Central's Boys Varsity Soccer team won all three of their games during the third week of play, extending their record to 7-0.

C. Dee Wright Community Ministry Center hosting exercise program

Step-Aerobics is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 8 p.m. at the C. Dee Wright Community Ministry Center (former Newstead Town Hall), Church and John Streets adjacent to Akron First United Methodist Church.

Close game ends in Akron Central JV Football loss

The 2007 High School Football Season "kicked off" on Labor Day weekend. The Akron Junior Varsity Tigers opened their first game on the road against John F. Kennedy's JV Bears. It was a very close game with the Tigers losing by only 2 points.

Mighty Mini Tigers how up to play

It was a great day for football Saturday, September 15, 2007 and it was clear that Coach Jerry and Lou Casseri's Mighty Mini Tigers showed up to play, with the assistance of coaching from Darin Schultz and Marty Smith.

Soccer players earn Athlete of the Week status

Two Akron Central School soccer team members earned this week's Athlete of the Week honors.

Tiger Harriers run strong season opener

The Akron Central School Boys Cross-Country team posted a solid season opener as they traveled to Franklinville on September 15 to compete with twenty-two teams from New York and Pennsylvania.

Varsity Field Hockey team tied for first place in N.O. League

In regard to the start of the season for Akron Central's varsity field hockey team, "old news" is great news!! Once again, ther "Chicks with Sticks" have hit the field ready to go and after four league games, they are tied for first place in the Niagara-Orleans League.
