Two Tiger Tracksters to compete at States

Several members of the Lady Tigers track team traveled to Niagara-Wheatfield to compete in the sectional meet on Friday, May 28 and Saturday, May 29. The girls had some outstanding performances, highlighted by two members of the team qualifying for the state meet.


Akron throwers do well at Sectionals; Brink going to states for discus

Three Akron throwers competed in the discus and shot put events at the Section Six Track and Field Championships at Niagara Wheatfield High School over the Memorial Day weekend.


Cool Cats pounce on Flames

The Division III Cool Cats faced a fierce Flame Offense in Akron Soccer action on Saturday. The Flames offense led by Andrew Borchert, Anthony Cinotti, Austin McMindes and Austin Meitz sparked a quick two goal lead for the Flames, which included two highlight reel goals, one of which was an unbelievable goal that was deflected off a knee from a strong Flame corner kick; these Flames looked ready for a high scoring game.


Hitter, pole-vaulter tapped as Athletes of the Week

A hitter for the Varsity Softball team and pole-vaulter were tapped as Athletes of the Week.


Tigers edged in last contest of the season

The Akron Tigers lost their last Lacrosse contest of the season to Nichols, by a score of 4-5.


Tigers perform well at Sectionals

Several members of the Akron boys track team headed to Niagara-Wheatfield to compete in the sectional meet on May 28 and 29. The boys put in a fantastic effort and had some strong performances to wrap up the season.


Yankees go 1-1; have 5-2 record

The Yankees fell to a tough Astro’s team last Monday.
