DESCRIPTION:The Newstead Historical Society will welcome local historian Susan Eck on Thursday\, June 19 in the Newstead Cultural Center\, 33 Main St.\, bottom floor of the library\, at 7 p.m. Eck will present her program “Emblem of Equality: Women’s Suffrage in WNY.” \nThis year marks the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment\, grating American women the right to vote. Susan will examine the contributions of many area women to this major movement\, its long struggle and its eventual success. \nAttendance will be in person only. Following COVID-19 guidelines\, attendance will be limited and registration is required.
