ACS Middle School students do well at Music Festival

MUSIC FESTIVAL – the Akron Central Middle School Music Department got to celebrate a year of hard work by participating in the Darien Lake Music Festival earlier this month.  The 6th Grade Band, 7th/8th Grade Band, Middle School Orchestra, and Middle School Chorus ensembles spent the morning performing three selections each for a judge in order to receive a score. This competition was the largest attended competition of the season with over 88 ensembles competing throughout the day. All of Akron’s music ensembles received a 97 or higher and additionally, all three instrumental ensembles placed in their respective age/ensemble categories earning them each a trophy. The 6th Grade Band and the Middle School Orchestra placed third in their respective category while the 7th/8th Grade Band placed second. After students spent the morning performing and competing, they got to end their day by enjoying a sunny day in the park.
