The Newstead Historical Society is giving Commemorative Coins to the first 100 people to take a tour of their museums on the Fourth of July. They invite everyone in the community to join them for any or all of their activities this weekend.  A Gold Commemorative Coins will be given out at the Knight-Sutton Museum, 123 Main St. open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Fourth of July and the Silver coin is available at the Rich-Twinn Octagon House, 145 Main St. open from 2 to 4 p.m. The Rich-Twinn Octagon House will host Heritage Days on their

Akron Community Band will present their Friday night concert in Veterans Park, Buell Street, Akron beginning at 7 p.m. on July 3.  They will share several patriotic pieces prior to the Akron Celebration Committee Fireworks.  Food Vendors will serve a variety of items in Veterans Park from 5 to 9 p.m.   Fireworks begin after dusk. Light to moderate snow will overspread the region today, February 6. having the potential for snow squalls tonight. Lake effect snow will develop Saturday south of Lake Ontario and linger into Sunday. Additionally, frigid air and gusty winds will arrive tonight and last into Saturday, with the cold air to linger throughout the weekend.
