Newstead Town Board members voted Monday night to hire Wendel to provide Immersion and Concept Design Services for a potential project to construct a community center in the Town of Newstead for the cost of $51,500 plus $500 for reimbursable expenses billed on a time and expense basis. Community input sought on proposed Community Center

A proposal for the design and future construction of a Community Center for Town of Newstead residents was presented at the Newstead Town Board meeting Monday night. After conversations, Town Board members determined that it is essential to solicit opinions and input from the residents of the Town of Newstead with regards to the planned design and future construction of a Community Center in the community. Portion of North Millgrove Road restriction announced

Erie County Department of Public Works has announced that the portion of North Millgrove (CR-268) from Hiller Road to Buckwheat Road will have a single lane road restriction beginning on February 19 and continuing through February 23 or until complete. The restriction will be daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. This restriction is for the purpose of soil borings for CHA Construction. Earth Dimensions Inc. will be performing the work. Newstead Town Board members made appointments, set policies, and adopted a meeting calendar during their 2024 organizational meeting on January 2. Regular meetings Regular meetings of the Newstead Town Board continue on the second and fourth Monday of each month in 2024.  Work sessions preceding each Board Meeting begin at 6:45 p.m., with the regular meeting beginning at 7:30 p.m. Work sessions are scheduled the first and third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. when not conflicting with a holiday. Bicentennial Scavenger Hunt continues

The Town of Newstead bicentennial events are over, and a great deal of fun was had by those participating.  If you ran out of time to complete the scavenger hunt, you have until the end of the month.  The scavenger hunt was designed for family fun and enjoyment.  As an added bonus you could learn something new about Akron/Newstead history.  Booklets are still available at Town Hall, Village Hall, Newstead Public Library and Knight-Sutton Museum.  Pick one up and find the signs at the various locations.  There will be a code to decipher.  Everyone who took part earlier in the
