Akron Central High School continues Homecoming tradition of collecting PB&J
PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY DONATIONS SOUGHT – Akron Central High School Student Council members (l-r) Secretary Peter Sokolofsky, Treasurer Tiana Kabingira Kipendo, Vice President Anthony Consiglio, President Ava Fox, and Member-at-Large Ella Liss, remind parents and students to stock up on peanut butter and jelly for donation to the annual Homecoming Food Drive to benefit the Akron-Newstead Food Pantry.
The Akron Central High School Student Council is busy preparing for the upcoming Homecoming Spirit Week festivities. Keeping with tradition, they are once again holding a collection for jars of peanut butter and jelly to be donated to the Akron-Newstead Food Pantry. They are asking their classmates to participate in this school-wide effort to give back to the community with a donation of these much-needed pantry staples for those in need.
The collection begins on Thursday, October 3 and runs through Thursday, October 10, 2024, with a goal of 175 jars. If the goal is met, all high school students will be rewarded with a free math homework pass from any high school math teacher. The homeroom that collects the most items will also be rewarded with a breakfast treat. For every item a student brings in for the drive, they’ll receive a ticket to be entered for a chance at the Half Court basketball shot during the Homecoming Pep Assembly.
