Akron Field Hockey players set State Records

Morgan Tomporowski and Marissa Brege of the Varsity Lady Tiger Field Hockey Team set state records with the season that recently concluded.
Morgan Tomporowski scored a state record 49 goals in a single season and has earned her a spot among the all-time best, tied with three others who have scored 49 goals in a season for a ranking of 10th place. Lacey Berghorn scored 45 in 2021 ranking her in 15th place.
“Her consistency, competitiveness, and ability to finish under pressure powered the Akron offense all season long,” Coach Stone notes.
Goalkeeper Marissa Brege, set a New York State record with 58 career shutouts, earned over 70 games in just 5 seasons, including 15 shutouts this year alone. “She didn’t just protect the net; she set the standard for what it means to be a lockdown goalkeeper,” Coach Stone notes.
“Congratulations to Morgan and Marissa on these incredible accomplishments, and thank you for representing Akron with talent, toughness, and Tiger pride.”
