Akron Lionesses donate Books to Akron Central School 2024 Kindergarten Class

The Akron Lioness Club donated 100 copies of I Spy Letters by Jean Marzollo, to the 2024 Akron Central School Kindergarten Class, on their first day of school. Children can search classic photos from the bestselling I Spy series to help them learn the alphabet.  Simple picture clues and rhyming riddles guide the young readers through interactive, fun-filled spreads.  Many thanks to Lionesses Pat Pearce, Carole Borchert, and Akron Central School Kindergarten teacher Emily Drum for their help in organizing the donation of books for Kindergarteners.

Akron Lionesses enjoyed a busy summer of fundraisers including The Lottery & Cash Raffle held for the Sidewalk Sale, June 15, the annual Pies in the Park held July 12th for the Community Band Concert in Russell Park, and the Lioness Mum Sale featuring Bedford’s beautiful Mums.

Each year Lionesses support the community by assisting Bedford’s Greenhouse with Hanging Baskets for the Main Street Business District and participating in the Akron Central School Scholarship Program for a graduating senior. This year two outstanding seniors were honored with Akron Lioness Scholarships.  Lionesses were also able to assist a local needy family with a donation to help with medical expenses.

Looking forward to their 35th year Anniversary in November, the organization anticipates other worthy community projects.

Akron Lionesses thank the Akron Newstead Community for their generous support!
