Akron Pirates slide to victory in season finale

The Akron Pirates T-Ball team closed out the 2023 season with two games against the Alden Blue team. The first game on Tuesday, June 13 got cut short by rain, but the teams played an exciting extra-inning rematch on Saturday, June 17.

Rookie stand out Luke Young led the way to victory, smashing three singles and a home run, while also making several great plays in the infield. To the great amusement of the crowd, during their final at-bats of the season, each player celebrated by sliding across home plate. Coaches Ryan Young and Mike Young would like to extend congratulations to each of the kids, as their hard work led to an exciting and successful season.
