Akron Police Blotter
Akron Police officers conducted a number of vehicle patrols March 30 through April 12, 2020. Some of the calls to which they responded follow:
March 30
An alarm was reported at a Bloomingdale Road business, it was accidental by an employee.
Patrol responded to a first-aid call on Westgate Avenue, after receiving a medical alarm.
Patrol checked the welfare of a Shepard Avenue resident, all was fine.
April 1
Assisted Medina Police, with an interview in regards to an occurrence in their town.
Patrol assisted the DPW with traffic at Buffalo and John Streets.
A suspicious incident was investigated on John Street, no problems were found.
Patrol responded to a Shepard Avenue residence for a first-aid call.
Disorderly persons were reported on Buell Street, they were advised.
A Shepard Avenue resident wanted to report their vehicle stolen. It turned out that a relative had taken it to get gasoline.
Patrol responded to a first-aid call on Westgate Avenue.
April 2
A suspicious incident was investigated on John Street, no issues were found.
April 3
A subject came to the station to report being harassed at work, they were referred to Genesee County, where the incident took place.
A property damage accident was investigated at Crittenden and Knapp Roads, two vehicles were involved.
A custody dispute was reported on Cummings Road, they were advised.
Patrol responded to a Westgate Avenue residence for a first-aid call.
A property dispute was reported on Randy Drive, all parties were advised.
April 4
Patrol responded to a first-aid call at a Cedar Street business.
A suspicious incident was investigated on Main Road, no problems were found.
Patrol assisted a motorist on Clarence Center Road, directions were given.
April 5
A Parkview Drive teenager was reported as a runaway, they returned on their own. All parties were advised.
A fire alarm was reported on Westgate Avenue, it was caused by steam from a shower.
April 6
An open burning complaint was investigated on Bloomingdale Road, the subjects were advised.
April 7
Wires were reported down at Buell and Mechanic Streets, the Akron electric responded and removed them.
A disorderly person was reported on Cedar Street, he was taken into his house by a relative.
April 8
Patrol responded to a first-aid call at a Cedar Street business.
Patrol assisted the sheriff’s office with a disturbance on Maple Road.
A suspicious person was reported on Main Street, they were gone when patrol arrived.
April 9
A suspicious incident was reported on Cedar Street, no problems were found.
April 10
Patrol responded to a Shepard Avenue residence for a first-aid call.
Illegal parking was reported on Main Street, the vehicle was gone when patrol arrived.
An occupied suspicious vehicle was reported in Akron Falls Park, they were advised and sent on their way.
April 11
A neighbor dispute was reported on Bloomingdale Road, the parties were advised.
