Akron Police Department investigating porta-potty explosion

The Akron Police Department conducted a number of foot and vehicle patrols June 30 through July 13, 2025.  In addition, some of the calls to which they responded follow:

6/30 Trespassing was reported on Crittenden Road, the subject was advised and ejected.

7/01 Patrol responded to a first-aid call on Skyline Drive. A disturbance was reported on Westgate Avenue, all parties were advised. Patrol responded to a Westgate Avenue residence on a first-aid call.

7/03 A suspicious incident was reported in Akron Falls Park, no issues were found. A suspicious person was reported on Clarence Center Road, it was a juvenile and they were advised. Patrol responded to a Call for first-aid on Randy Drive. A fire was reported on Crescent Drive, it was extinguished and no damage was reported. Fireworks use was reported on Bloomingdale Road, all quiet when patrol arrived.

7/04 Found property was reported on Buell Street, a wallet was turned into patrol. It was returned to the owner. Illegal parking was reported on Main Street, several cars were tagged. Criminal mischief was investigated on Skyline Drive, a porta-potty was damaged by fireworks. Charges are pending. A disturbance was investigated in Akron Falls Park, all parties were advised. A lost dog was reported on Bloomingdale Road, it was found and returned by patrol.

7/05 A 5-year-old child was reported missing from the Brooklyn Street park. They were found sleeping in their car. Patrol responded to a first-aid call in Akron Falls Park. A disturbance was reported on Wesley Drive, they were advised. A fireworks complaint was investigated on Indianola Avenue, all was quiet.

7/06 An alarm was reported on Eckerson Avenue, everything appeared secure. Patrol assisted a motorist on Parkview Drive, directions were given. Trespassing was reported on Madison Avenue, they subject was advised. A disorderly person was reported on the falls in Akron Falls Park, they were advised and ejected. A disturbance was reported on Wesley Drive, all parties were advised.

7/07 A burglary was investigated on Wesley Drive, one subject was arrested. They were arraigned and sent to the holding center.

7/08 Patrol responded to a call for first-aid on Washington Street. A suspicious incident was reported on Main Street, no issues were found. Patrol responded to a Bloomingdale Road residence on a first-aid call.

7/09 A suspicious incident was reported on Churchill Street, no issues were found. Patrol responded to a first-aid call on Westgate Avenue.

7/11 Patrol responded to a Cedar Street residence on a call for first-aid.

7/12 An injury accident was investigated at Main and Cummings Roads, two cars were involved.

7/13 A fire alarm was reported on Bloomingdale Road, it was caused by a faulty sensor. Fraud was reported by a Crescent Drive resident, a report was taken.
