Alan H. Anderson

Alan H. Anderson, passed away peacefully at his residence in Akron, New York surrounded by family on September 9, 2024. He was born on September 27, 1931, in Oakfield, NY, to the late Charles and Mary (Thompson) Anderson.

Alan was a humble man who touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity.

He honorably served in the United States Navy for three years during the Korean War and dedicated his working years to the Continental Can Company in North Tonawanda, NY as a diligent factory worker. Upon retirement, he shared the tranquility of his garden and the warmth of family gatherings with his beloved wife Ethel by his side. Alan always put others before himself, a testament to his unselfish nature. His humble demeanor and unwavering dedication to his family were the cornerstones of his life.

Alan was a lifelong member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, where he passionately served as a song leader for many years. He also diligently served his church family as Treasurer and Secretary, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his faith and community.

Loving father of Edward (Karen) Stanley, Irene (Robert) Moore, James (Marybeth) Anderson, David (Nicole) Anderson, Joyce (Tim) Goodrige, Mary (Robert) Fromwiller; cherished grandfather of 20 grandchildren; proud great- grandfather of 29 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great- grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive him. Besides his wife Ethel of over 63 years, Alan is predeceased by a son, Robert Anderson; a daughter, Robin Dennis; two grandsons, Charles Stanley and Todd Moore and two brothers, Richard and Oscar Anderson.

Family and friends called on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC. A Funeral Service to commemorate Alan’s life will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, 11501 Rapids Road, Akron, New York, 14001.
