APD and other police agencies seeking public help as they investigate series of events

The Akron Police Department, New York State Police and Erie County Sheriff’s office are investigating a series of events that occurred in the early morning hours on May 4.

Around 2:15 a.m., residents on Bloomingdale Ave. reported hearing loud bands like a shotgun blast or fireworks.  Later in the morning, residents in the John and Marshall area reported hearing fireworks and observed them being thrown from a vehicle.  Camera footage shows the car to be a small dark sedan, possibly a Volkswagen occupied by one person.

A Main St. resident reports a bicycle being stolen and an East Ave. resident reports his vehicle was tampered with.
