BOE announces online absentee portal now open for 2022 elections
The absentee ballot request portal for the Tuesday, June 28 primary and all other 2022 elections is now open on the Erie County Board of Elections website at www.elections.erie.gov. The direct link to the portal is https://elections.erie.gov/Absentee_Notice.
Because of continued Covid-19 concerns, all voters eligible to take part in the June primary may vote absentee. Ballots for June 28 will not be mailed until they are certified by the state, which is expected to take place May 5.
Due to a change in New York State law, voters issued mail-in ballots will not be able to use a regular ballot when voting at polling places, either during early voting or on Primary Day.
Voters requesting absentee status may only vote in person via affidavit, which will not be counted unless it is confirmed that no other ballot was cast.
Early voting for the June primary takes place Saturday, June 18 to Sunday, June 26.
