Bookmobile, author to visit West Shore Market
Local author, Amy Crockford and the Bookmobile will be at West Shore Market, a collaboration with the Village of Akron and Akron Chamber of Commerce, Sunday, August 15.
Crockford will have copies of her children’s book, My Happy Place which features Amy, a deaf 10-year-old girl who loves to swim and play with her friends. Her friends learn a valuable lesson about deafness. Those reading the book discover how they come up with a way to embrace it and how Amy learns the true meaning of friendship.
The West Shore Market continues to grow in vendor participation and customer base with local vendors including Sugarmama’s Bakeshop, Kindred Kreek, Tastefully Simple, Scentsy & Paparazzi, Human Farms, and others. Organizers hope to add more vendors in the near future.
Vendors wanting to participate may apply on the West Shore Market website.
The Market is designed to support all local businesses, organizations and individuals and organizers welcome anyone with a passion for what they do. It is held on the triangle of Village of Akron property at Cedar Street and Eckerson Ave. on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through the last Sunday in October.
All vendor fees will go back to the community for festivals, family crafts and fundraisers.
