Brad L. Cummings

Brad L. Cummings, passed away unexpectedly on October 31, 2022. He was born in Batavia, NY on July 25, 1974 to Daniel (Judith) Cummings and Nancy (nee Beideck) (Richard) Clare.

Brad was a 1992 graduate of Clarence High School. He worked as an Asphalt Plant Operator for New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. and dedicated over 22 years of his life to the Newstead Fire Company, serving as Fire Captain, Vice President, President, and most recently as Executive Board Director.

He was an enthusiastic sports fan and loved cheering for the Bills, Sabres, Bandits, and Yankees. He especially enjoyed mowing his lawn, Tim Horton’s, and barbeques with family and friends.

Besides his parents, Brad is survived by his wife, Toni Cummings; his children, Jacob and Julianna Cummings; his stepchildren, Raymond (Dakota) Jonathan, Robyn (Jimmy) Jonathan, Chase Jonathan; five grandchildren, and his brothers, Chad (Kristen) Cummings and Jeff (Emily) Beers. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Buffalo Bills themed Celebration of Brad’s Life was held Sunday, November 6, at the Newstead Fire Company Station #1 on Cummings Rd. in Akron, NY. Visitation hours began at 11:00 a.m. and were open to the public. At half time of the Bills game, a Fire Company Memorial Service was held, followed by a procession to Pioneer Cemetery where Brad reached his final resting place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Newstead Fire Company, Inc. in honor and memory of Brad Cummings.
