Bus Transportation for Akron Central modified for hybrid re-entry plan
The traditional transportation model for Akron Central School will reflect changes as the district embarks on a hybrid education plan for the start of the 2020-21 school year. Most students are assigned to either the “A” or “B” cohort, and a listing of streets and corresponding bus numbers is not available as bus routes are customized for the respective cohorts.
Parents will be sent a letter via US Postal Service of an anticipated pick-up time for their child(ren) prior to the start of school.
It is also recommended that all parents and older students with cell phones take advantage of Traversa Ride360, a web and mobile app introduced last year that allows parents and students to access their own secure data for bus stop location, route, pick up times and drop off times.
The mobile app works with Apple and Android devices and connects with the GPS units on the school buses to provide real-time data and updates. For step-by-step instructions, please go to www.akronschools.org/Ride360 to create an account and connect your children.
Parents and students are reminded that due to COVID-19 masks must be worn at all times while riding the school bus. The number of students on each bus will be reduced with one student per assigned seat; however, same household students may be seated together.
