In a message to Akron Central School parents last week, Superintendent of Schools Patrick McCabe announced the first full student day Tuesday, September 8 will be remote for all students, rather than an in-person cohort in the building as previously planned.

The traditional transportation model for Akron Central School will reflect changes as the district embarks on a hybrid education plan for the start of the 2020-21 school year. Most students are assigned to either the “A” or “B” cohort, and a listing of streets and corresponding bus numbers is not available as bus routes are customized for the respective cohorts.

Akron Central School District is discouraging unnecessary visitors to the school to protect students and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, however in the instances when a visit is necessary, the District will maintain its single point of entry to the building for the new school year beginning September 8, 2020, the opening day of school for 2020-21.
