Akron Central School Board of Education voters approved a $32,597,101.25 budget for 2021-22 budget on Tuesday night with 331 yes votes to 81 no votes. There were a total of 418 voters casting ballots.

Akron Central School students in all grade levels will be on a four day per week schedule beginning Monday, May 24 with today’s announcement that the 6th through 12th grades are moving to 4 days per week instruction.

Five candidates are seeking election to two seats to be filled in the upcoming Akron Central School Board of Education election. Akron Varsity Tigersharks kicked off their season with strong swims against Medina and Newfane. The Girls winning the January 28 meet against Medina 106-61 and the Boys earning 61 points to Medina’s 108. In their meet with Newfane both the boys and girls scored wins: Girls 111-57 and Boys 83-69.
