The Akron Lions Club new program, Avenue of Flags, which offers residents with an opportunity to express their patriotism while supporting the local community was well received for Memorial Day. Flags flying throughout the Village of Akron greeted those arriving for Memorial Day observances as well as those walking, biking, and driving through the community.

West Shore Market, a collaboration with the Village of Akron and Akron Chamber of Commerce, will open this Sunday, May 30. Vendors wanting to participate may apply on the West Shore Market website. The Market is designed to support all local businesses, organizations and individuals and organizers welcome anyone with a passion for what they do.
