Local First responders called to scene of bus crash on I-90

East Pembroke, Millgrove, Newstead, Akron, and Wolcottsville were among local fire companies called to assist following a serious bus crash on the NYS Thruway Friday afternoon. The New York State Police are investigating the crash that occurred on Interstate 90 eastbound between exits 48A and 49 in the town of Pembroke, Genesee County. Preliminary reports indicate the bus, carrying more than 50 passengers, overturned. Multiple individuals have been injured, with several confirmed fatalities. The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal one car vehicle collision that occurred on Bloomingdale Road in the Town of Alabama on July 20, 2025 . The Genesee County Emergency Dispatch Center received the 9-1-1 call reporting the personal injury accident at 3:14 p.m. Upon arrival, patrols identified the operator of the vehicle as Justin J. Blasko, age 36, of Akron, New York. Blasko was the operator and sole occupant of a black 1998 BMW 4 door sedan traveling eastbound on Bloomingdale Road.
