A facial hair judging and an 1800’s garment judging will take place in the Russell Park Gazebo, Akron, NY at 3 p.m. on July 4th. Participants entering the facial hair contest must come, clean shaven to M.R. Middaugh’s Barber Shop at 71 Main Street, Akron, to obtain a grower’s permit which is available now. Categories are Best Beard, Best Moustache, and Best Sideburns. The 1800’s vintage clothing apparel contest categories are Best Women’s Costume, Best Men’s Costume, and Best Children’s Costume. Emergency Manager Dan Kowalik reports that the travel ban continues and those ignoring it are putting themselves and others at risk.
