Town of Newstead and Village of Akron Emergency Manager Daniel Kowalik has announced that Local Emergency Managers will be distributing Rapid COVID 19 Test Kits to Village of Akron and Town of Newstead pick-up sites for residents while supplies last. This is will be a walk-in distribution and NOT a drive through one.

All trash routes in the Town of Newstead and Village of Akron are delayed this week. Friday routes are pushed to Saturday. Joseph M. Hickman Strategic/Municipal Sales Manager said, “With the current spike around our community and country of COVID-19 cases, we may experience service delays in your area. The safety of our employees and our customers is our highest priority, and we are working to ensure you are serviced as close to the expected service date as possible. Friday routes may push to Saturday, please leave garbage out if it is not collected on Friday. “
