David L. Harrington, “Putt,” passed away on August 3, 2024. He was born on June 13, 1939, in Batavia, New York, to the late Leonard and Louise Harrington. A lifelong resident of Akron, NY, David was a beloved member of the community for more than eight decades. David and Kathryn (Daniels) embarked on their lifelong journey together on January 8, 1965. Ronald Parker, 86 of Basom, New York, died Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the NYS Veterans Home, Batavia, NY. He was a US Army Veteran, serving his country from 1957-1959. Ron was of the Snipe Clan of the Tonawanda Band of Senecas. He graduated from Akron Central School in 1956. A welder by trade, he had a long and varied work history. Barbara C. Lowder, 92 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at LeRoy Village Green Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 12, 1931 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Julius and Helen Bow Chiuppi. Barbara was employed by Sylvania in Batavia and Litton Electronics in Mesa, Arizona prior to her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to travel, making trips to the Panama Canal, Alaska, Hawaii, and twice to Italy and  Europe. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Barbara R. (Murray) Grosberger, age 92, of New Oxford, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024 at Cross Keys Village – the Brethren Home Community in New Oxford. She was the loving wife of the late Daniel J. Grosberger who passed away on December 27, 2004; together they shared 41 years of marriage. Barbara was born in Buffalo, NY on August 7, 1931 and was the daughter of the late William and Ruth (Hawk) Murray. It is with tremendous sadness and love that we announce the passing of Jeffrey D. Jones, 78, of Akron, New York.  Jeff died unexpectedly on May 21, 2024 in Cincinnati, Ohio surrounded by his family. Phelps, known affectionately to his friends and family as Pete, was born in Batavia, New York, on April 30, 1938 to the late Max and Gladys (Everitt) Phelps.  He spent his years in Akron, New York, where he was a pillar of the community. Raymond G. Skaine, 84 of Clarence, New York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. He was born August 8, 1939 in Monongahela, PA, a son of the late James and Ruth Stamper Skaine. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Sandra Markham Skaine of Clarence.
