Morgan Tomporowski and Marissa Brege of the Varsity Lady Tiger Field Hockey Team set state records with the season that recently concluded. Morgan Tomporowski scored a state record 49 goals in a single season and has earned her a spot among the all-time best, tied with three others who have scored 49 goals in a season for a ranking of 10th place. Seniors honored at 5:30 tonight, game cancelled

Due to Springville forfeiting the game, the Friday, October 24th, Akron Varsity football game against the Griffins has been canceled. But Tiger Spirit is STRONG! You are invited to come out to honor our senior players and cheerleaders at 5:30 PM on the football field. Ethan Robinson will give an encore rendition of the national anthem. Fall Sports Registration is Open at ACS

Akron Central High School and Middle School have announced the opening of sports registration for the Fall 2025 sports season.  Parents of Akron High School or Middle School student athletes participating in a fall sport at any level, including modified, will need to register their child on the school’s registration platform, Arbiter Sports, at www.akronschools.org/arbitersports. Registration is currently open for those wishing to participate in varsity, junior varsity and modified cross-country, soccer and volleyball; varsity and JV football, varsity cheerleading and golf, and varsity and modified field hockey.

Tiger Athlete of the Week January 30

This week’s Akron Tiger Athlete of the Week is junior Whitley Koopman of the varsity girls swim team. Koopman is a second-year varsity swimmer who has made huge improvements this season.  Her efforts have secured her a place at both the Niagara-Orleans All-League and Genesee Region/Niagara Orleans championship meets to close out the season. Whitley has greatly improved in the freestyle events, dropping 3 seconds in her 50 Freestyle, 10 seconds in her 100 Freestyle, and 20 seconds from her 200 Freestyle times. Bulldogs Athletes of the Week

Alden Central Athletes of the Week Alden Central has named two Athletes of the Week. Brianna Brunner (Alden Varsity Girls Basketball) Brianna Brunner is playing the best basketball of her career so far this season.  Brianna was one of the biggest reasons the Bulldogs won 3-4 games last week.  Her hot three-point shooting and her defensive play helped the Bulldogs to victory over Cleveland Hill, Cheektowaga and City Honors.  Brianna is currently leading the program in made three pointers with (24), second in scoring with (93) points and third in rebounding with (72).  Great work Bri!
