A Funeral Mass will be held for Cherie Ann Kasperek, at St. David Catholic Church, 3900 South University Drive, Davie, Florida at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Cooper City American Legion Post 321 from 11 a.m. to 3 pm.
Affectionately known as Cher by her loved ones, she graced this world with her presence on July 19, 1954, in Buffalo, New York. Her journey came to an abrupt and unexpected close as she passed away surrounded by her loving family in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, on November 13, 2024, due to health complications.
Cher was a beacon of joy and warmth, graduating from Depew High School in Depew, NY, where she was known for her sharp mind and kind heart. She pursued her passion for business, which later served her well in her professional endeavors. Cher’s work ethic and dedication were evident throughout her career, particularly during her time as an executive secretary for the Twin Fair Corp. of Western NY.
Her creativity knew no bounds, as she later channeled her talents into her own venture, “Yarn Magic by Cherie.” Her crafting events were not only successful but also a testament to her ability to bring people together through her artistry. Her creativity will live on through her beautiful and fun creations made with love and care, bringing joy to all. She loved getting together on Monday evenings with her crochet group.
We would be remiss if we didn’t mention her love of bingo. Her bingo skills were truly legendary. She volunteered every week to work the St. David Catholic Church bingo and then enjoyed playing with all of her friends there. She most especially enjoyed her time at bingo with her best friend Jamie.
Family was the cornerstone of Cher’s life, and she was a loving wife to her husband of over 50 years, Robert Kasperek. Together, these former Akron residents created a beautiful family with their children Robert II, Alan, Crystal, and Dean. Cher’s role as a mother was one she cherished deeply, and as a grandmother, she embraced the opportunity to help guide and raise her grandchildren Aleksy, Lucian, Logan, Autumn, Paige, and Skylar with the same love and devotion she showed her own children. She was a true Grandma. Cher’s love knew no bounds as she also welcomed her children’s partners, Megan, Stephine, Rob and Maureen as her own. Cher was also a devoted Godmother to her niece Katie.
Cher’s sister Diane, and stepbrothers, Albert and Edward, remember her as a guiding light in their lives. Her presence was a source of comfort and inspiration to her family, and her absence will be profoundly felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
An adventurous spirit, Cher loved exploring new horizons with her family. Disney World was a favorite destination where she shared the magic and wonder with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She also cherished the times spent on cruises, creating lasting memories with her loved ones on the open sea. Her passion for cooking was another way she expressed her love, especially when it came to crafting new meal ideas and delectable desserts for the holidays. Cher would often say with a smile, “I’m just like my mother, I cook fast and I cook good!” – a sentiment that will bring smiles to her family’s faces for years to come.
Cher’s legacy is one of love, creativity, and family. Her infectious laughter, boundless energy, and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends, and her memory will be cherished as a treasure beyond measure.
As the sun sets on Cher’s earthly journey, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she touched. Her story is not one of sorrow but of a life well-lived and full of purpose. We bid farewell to a remarkable woman, confident that her legacy of love and joy will continue to inspire us all.
Cher’s family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time. As we celebrate Cher’s life and honor her memory, we are reminded of the preciousness of each moment and the enduring power of love. “Cher, your light will forever guide us.”
