Civil Enforcement Office Closed

BUFFALO — Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announced effective immediately the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Civil Enforcement Division offices are closed to the public until further notice.

The decision to limit public access was made in the light of County Executive Mark Poloncarz’s declaration of a State of Emergency and after consulting with Erie County Commissioner of Health Dr. Gale Burstein to limit exposure to staff as well as mitigating the spread of the coronavirus.

Among other changes to service and enforcement processes, the Sheriff’s Office is suspending all service/execution of eviction-type cases until further notice.
