Claire A. Nablo

Claire A. Nablo, 62, passed away June 12, 2022 at her sister Cheryl’s home in Worcester, New York, who was always by her side.

Claire was born June 28, 1959 in Buffalo, the daughter of Michael and Nancy (Lawson) Pankow.

She attended St. Peter and Paul’s Elementary School and graduated from Clarence High School.  She went on to receive an Associate’s degree in Gerontology from Villa Maria College, her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Buffalo State College, and a Master’s degree in Special Education from Canisius College.

Claire worked at North Buffalo Community Center as a Social Worker for 7 years, then worked as a Special Education Teacher for The Summit Center for 7 years, retiring from Erie One BOCES as a Special Education Teacher. 

She was a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.  She enjoyed being outdoors and traveling the world. Claire was always ready for an adventure and was very fortunate to have completed her bucket list with the biggest accomplishment being making it to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.

Claire married David Nablo on December 27, 1999 in Las Vegas, NV. She was a loving and devoted wife. He predeceased her on May 18, 2022.

She is survived by her sister, Cheryl and Gys Seacord of Worcester NY, her brother, Michael and Michele Pankow of Texas and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents.

A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main Street, Worcester, NY.  The Reverend Judith Thistle will officiate.

Interment and committal service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2022 at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 700 Pine Ridge Heritage Blvd., Buffalo, NY.
