Confirmed COVID-19 cases higher again this week

Town of Newstead/Village of Akron Emergency Manager, Dan Kowalik, gave a COVID-19 update on Tuesday.

The confirmed number of new weekly cases in the 14001 Zip Code were higher than the week before for the second week, now 569, up 19 from last week’s 550, which was up 16 from 534 the previous week, and 530 the week before. Total is since March of 2020.

Kowalik reminds local residents they need to continue to be smart and follow the recommendations being sent forth by the local health officials.
