Fireworks, parade on schedule for Akron Fourth of July

The Akron Celebration Committee is finalizing plans for the 2021 Akron Fourth of July Celebration.

In a preview released this week plans include: July 3rd Fireworks at dusk in Veterans Park. July 4th Power Wheels Race on Main Street at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Soapbox Derby at 11:00 a.m. Chicken Barbecue 11:00 a.m. in Russell Park along with additional food stands.

Wolcottsville Wildlife will be in Russell Park as well as Face Painting.  The Kiddie parade begins at 4:15 p.m. with a Pirates and Mermaids theme. The Gala Parade begins at 4:30 p.m. with a Candyland theme.
