Franklin N. Crane III

Franklin N. Crane III (Sonny), passed away on March 23, 2021. He was born in Buffalo, New York on January 12, 1940 to the late Franklin and Marjorie (Worley) Crane II.

Sonny was a 1958 graduate of Cleveland Hill High School and then went on to serve in the United States Navy. He retired after 40 years working at the Eastman Machine Company as a machinist. Sonny enjoyed gardening and planting trees and was known to some in the family as Johnny Appleseed. An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved the outdoors. His favorite affirmation was “I’ll drink to that!”

Loving father of Tina (John) Rogers, Franklin (Kimberly) Crane, Dawn Chriswell, and Paula Ann Crane; beloved brother of Ronald Crane, Beverly Fisher, Karl (Barbara) Crane, Paul (Karen) Crane; cherished grandfather of fourteen. He is also survived by eleven great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Franklin is predeceased by a sister, Patricia Crane and a grandson, Franklin Crane.
