Genesee County Sheriff’s Office seeking assistance in locating vehicle
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance in locating the suspect vehicle involved in a hit and run accident that occurred on August 14, 2020 at approximately 8:58 p.m. on Route 77 in Pembroke, NY.
That accident resulted in the operator of a motorcycle being thrown off his motorcycle and into the middle of the road where he was struck by the unidentified vehicle, which left the scene. The motorcycle operator suffered serious physical injuries and was transported to ECMC via Mercy Flight for further medical treatment. As of August 17, the victim is listed in critical condition.
The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2012-1013 Hyundai Tucson light in color. The vehicle may have some front-end damage but will have significant undercarriage damage resulting from the accident. Evidence left at the scene of the accident has been used to determine the make, model and approximate year.
Following the accident, the unidentified suspect vehicle continued southbound to the intersection of Route 77 and route 33, Corfu, NY where it turned right on to Route 33 traveling westbound.
