Gerald A. Fry
Gerald A. Fry, of Wolcottsville, New York passed away on November 30, 2020, in his home, where he was cared for by his wife and son. He was born in Lockport, NY on July 29,1938 to the late Arthur and Florence (Raduns) Fry.
Gerald was a 1956 graduate of Akron Central High School. Known to his friends as Jake, he retired from the City of Lockport Fire Department in 1995.
Jake enjoyed carpentry, puttering around home, working in his garden, and going to Black Lake every spring with several generations of family and friends on a fishing trip. One of his favorite pastimes was supporting his grandchildren’s activities, and he always had a front row seat at his granddaughter’s softball games.
Loving husband of Susanne (Titterington) Fry. Beloved Father of Randy (Sara) Fry, Bruce (Amy), Steve and Greg (Christine) Kidney. Grandfather of Trinia Symes, Shane (Katie) Needle, Ryan (Ashley) Needle, and Taylor and Maddie Fry. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Jake was preceded in death by his loving children, his son Terry Fry and his daughter Debbie Needle, his brother Ricky Fry, and his sister Carol Snell.
Friends and relatives may call from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 on Friday, December 4 at the Ross Funeral Home, 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY. The family will be available at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6369 Wolcottsville Road, Akron, at 10:00 a.m. December 5th, prior to the funeral service, which will begin at 11:00. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
