Gerald J. “Jerry” Butler

Gerald J. “Jerry” Butler of Alden, New York passed away January 31, 2025.  Beloved husband of 64 years to Marian (Balistieri) Butler; dear father of Michelle (Bob) Bliss, Sheryl (Joe) Bialoglowicz, Anne Marie Davis, Alan (Robin), Teresa (Mike Rushok) Roberts and Patti (Mike) Runge; loving grandfather of Shawn Bliss, Shannon (Jason) Roberts, Vincent (Chandra) Balducci, Kim (fiance Jim Abell) Davis, Ryan (Katelyn) Davis, Mary (Tory Hurtubise) Davis, Alec (fiance Stephanie Latoszek) Roberts, Derek Roberts, Jared (fiance Emma Cansdale) Roberts, Madysen Roberts, Jennifer (Ryan) Hejmanowski, Jeremy (Andrea) Butler, Evan Fix, Braeden Fix, Michael Gage, Selina (Miguel) Rodriguez, Michael (Mykayla) Kozlowski, Zach Runge, Perrin Runge, Emma Runge, and Krystal Lynn; also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; pre-deceased by his parents Samuel and Ann Butler, his  brothers Kenneth (late Wanda) and Alan Butler, his sister Marie (late Lou) Brown and grandchildren Abigal Roberts, Justin Balducci and Declan Roberts. 

Family was present to receive friends at the Charles Meyer Funeral Home, 13228 Broadway Alden, NY on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John’s RC Church Alden, NY on Thursday at 11 a,m. (please assemble at church).

 Jerry was a dedicated member of the Alden Jaycees, Alden Chamber of Commerce, Alden School Board, Alden Little League Football Association and the Alden Lions Club.  He also served as the Alden Deputy Town Supervisor.  He is a lifetime member of the Erie County Sheriff’s Badge and Shield Club and served as past President of the Judges and Police Conference of Erie County.
