Helen R. Merle

Helen R. Merle,  was born on May 7, 1924, in Holland, New York.  A longtime resident of Alden, New York, she passed away March 27, 2025, at the age of 100.

Beloved wife of the late Harry Merle; daughter of the late Earl Rogers Sr. and Blanche Day Rogers; step-mother of Karyl (Walter) Meyer and Bruce (Karen) Merle; also survived by 5 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren; sister of the late Mildred Richards, Norma Rogers, Earl Rogers Jr., and foster sister of Charles Logan; aunt of Amy (Richard) Crane, Stewart (Kay Amore) Anderson, Christine (Timothy) Deragon and the late David Anderson; dear friend of Leeza Brown, Roger and Barbara Neeland, Sarah Tooley and John Maynard, and Joe Salim.

Helen was a longtime resident of Holland, NY, prior to moving to Alden.  She was an insurance agent for 46 years, an active church member over the years, a volunteer at the Alden Meals on Wheels, and an avid knitter of hats and lap blankets for several charities.

No prior visitation.  A memorial service will be held at the Alden Presbyterian Church, Alden, NY, on Monday, April 21, at 1 p.m.  Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Attica, NY.  Arrangements by the Charles Meyer Funeral Home.  Share your condolences at www.meyerfuneralhome.com.
