Incumbents re-elected in uncontested election

Village of Akron Trustees Darrin Folger and Peter Forrestel each were elected to another four-year term in Tuesday’s bi-annual election.

Both candidates ran unopposed.  Folger received 37 votes and Forrestel 37votes.

There were  2 write-in votes.  Forty voters cast ballots.

Forrestel noted last week, “I am honored to be able to work with the Village Board and our village team to help provide the services and utilities that make Akron a great place to live, work, play, worship and visit. Thank you to all who offer their time and talents to making our community the good one that it is.”

Folger said, “New York already had a significant amount of financial short falls prior to the Pandemic. Now, that situation is much worse. We are faced with creatively putting forth a budget that keeps the Village moving forward, while keeping the expense to our Community at a minimum.”
