Jerome P. George

Jerome P. George, 74 of Basom, New York unexpectedly on November 8, 2021. He was born in Batavia on February 15, 1947 to the late Ellsworth and Mildred (Ground) George.

A 1966 graduate of Akron Central High School, he went on to join the United States Army and honorably served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a proud member of the Beaver Clan and the Myron Ground American Legion Post #1352 where he served as a past commander. When he was able, he loved playing lacrosse. In recent years, he enjoyed watching football and hockey.

Jerome is survived by two loving sisters, Marlene Thomas and Fidelia George. Many nieces and nephews also survive him. He is predeceased by a sister, Aletha Moses and a brother, Irving Sundown Jr.

Friends and relatives may call on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 6993 Council House Road on the Tonawanda Indian Reservation until the time of the Funeral Service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2021.  A Long House service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will take place on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the WNY National Cemetery in Corfu, NY.
