Joseph J. Mrowczynski

Joseph J. Mrowczynski, of Basom, New York, formerly of Akron, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on November 26, 2021. He was born in Buffalo, NY on November 13, 1929, to the late Stanley and Aniela Mrowczynski.

Joe was a graduate of McKinley High School and served in the Army Reserve. On May 12, 1962, he married the love of his life, Faith (Noble) Mrowczynski.

“Joe the Butcher” was the proud owner/operator of Joseph Meat’s in Akron for over 20 years. In his retirement, he worked at Wegmans’.  A man of deep faith, Joe served his church many times throughout the years as a lay reader and warden. He was a longtime member of the Akron Fire Company’s Auxiliary.

“Papa” as his family called him, loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and going to Batavia Downs.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 59 years, Faith Mrowczynski; beloved children, Sandra Faucett of WNY, James (Lorin) Mrowczynski of Mississippi, Susan Schrader of North Carolina, and Bo (Annie) Grave of Denmark. Joe is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Kimberly, Katelyn, Joe, Kristen, Cody, Jessica, Crystal, Drew, and Matthew, 3 great-grandchildren, Rylee, Kenley, Xander, and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Christ Episcopal Church, 7145 Fieldcrest Drive, Lockport, NY.
