Joseph Schrock

Joseph Schrock of Hernando, Florida departed this world on September 9, 2021 . Born 1931 in Akron, New York to Joseph Schrock and his wife Emma (nee Yoder).

He was raised Amish on the family farm on Greenbush Rd.  He went to Auction school and briefly worked as an auctioneer. In 1950 he enlisted for 3 years in the Army, receiving airborne/paratrooper training and being sent to Korea. He also served in Japan where he was in the Military police. Upon his honorable discharge from the Service, he found his niche at Cold Springs Construction in Akron where he worked for 40 years as a heavy equipment and crane operator. To say that he loved his job would be an understatement. He was a proud and devoted company man.

Joe held a pilot license and with a daredevil streak would be capable of a stunt such as flying under the wires.

Joe was the youngest of 8 siblings, all predeceased him: Verna Gurski, Alvin, Benjamin, Perry, Ervin, Gideon and Tobias Schrock.

He had 6 children: AnnMarie, John, James, Michael, Joseph Jr who survive him, and Matthew who predeceased him. 2 grandchildren, John Jr. and Heather Adamczak also survive, as well as several great grandchildren.

His grieving wife of 37 years Brigitte (nee Prange) was not permitted to see and comfort him in his last days because of Covid restrictions. As the love of her life, he will be forever greatly missed.
