Legacy to continue
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Ross, beloved funeral director of Ross Funeral Home of Akron, who served the Akron community with dignity, compassion, and unwavering dedication for over ten years. Michael passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
For generations, families in Akron and surrounding communities have turned to Ross Funeral Home during their most difficult times, and it was Michael’s personal mission to ensure each family felt comforted, respected, and cared for. Known for his warm heart, gentle guidance, and steadfast presence, he was more than a funeral director — Michael was a trusted friend, a neighbor, and a pillar of our community.
While Michael’s passing leaves a profound void, the legacy remains. To Serve The Living has always been the mission of Ross Funeral Home in every iteration and that remains. His beloved wife Deborah Ross remains committed to upholding the traditions and compassionate service that our community has come to expect. The Ross family and our dedicated team assure the families of Akron that their needs will continue to be met with the same respect, care, and integrity that have guided us for generations.
We anticipate there may be questions and concerns that community members have regarding their prearrangements, we want to assure everyone that their arrangements are safe and secure. We ask that for the time being all inquiries be submitted via email to ensure that our response to your needs are thoughtful and detailed. We appreciate the community’s continued support, grace and patience with us as we move forward in our healing and this transitional time.
We thank the community for the outpouring of love and support. It has been our greatest honor to serve the community alongside Michael.
Sincerely,
Deborah Ross
